Meet the Team
Harley Beckett
After finishing school and heading straight into construction to labour for bricklayers, working outdoors was always the motive. Fast forward a couple of years experimenting career paths, from opening a clothing boutique to learning 1st fix carpentry on site, the true love for being outdoors prevailed. After labouring for a koi fish pond building company, there was no looking back, fast forward 7 years of working through the ranks, so to speak, at several respectable landscaping companies, mixed with becoming a father to his baby girl and the love for creating outdoor spaces / gardens for families to enjoy, meant that it was naturally time to go out solo! With his dad (Chris) just finishing a 30 year career in the military kindly offering his services for labour, an old mark 1 ford ranger (still going today) and a wheel barrow, add lots of determination, we began to build the foundations that led to the beginning of Beckett Landscaping, after 3 years slowly building clients and a portfolio, Beckett Landscaping is now Ltd and just getting started
Enjoys : Family, Camping in woodlands, Outdoor Activities, History, Boxing & Mostly being outdoors… in the woods.
CHRIS Beckett
From a 17 year old out of Manchester into a young soldier in the Infantry with the 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers for 14 years; Chris then challenged himself to successfully go through a rigorous selection process and into a Special Duties Unit. In 2010 Chris finished 22 years in the British Army, not forgetting all the operational, humanitarian tours and posting’s in between. After serving in the military, Chris did a short spell in Baghdad, Iraq as a private security contractor from there was then offered a position in a US Government mentoring contract which led to a further 5 years working very closely with the Afghan Special Forces and Afghan Department of Police Intelligence in Afghanistan, it’s fair to say that Chris had more than earned a quieter life cruising the River Great Ouse on his wide beam boat with his wife and dog while battling various elements of PTSD… However being the true soldier he is, Chris was set on helping his son build his landscaping business by whole heartedly offering his labour and woodworking skills to the business, not to mention his military precision mentality! Chris enjoys the challenge to compliment a project with his bespoke outlook, adding a sense of personalisation to a project suited.
Enjoys : Wood Carving, Being Grandad, Keeping Fit & Healthy, History, His Boat & Sawing Wood… Always cutting wood.
